Bogense 2019 – Cyclocross World Championships – Denmark

Following the success of last years guide to the CX Worlds in Limburg, we’ve compiled all the information you need to know for this years event in Bogense, Denmark.

Event Dates:

The 2019 UCI Cyclocross World Championships take place on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd February 2019.

A weekend pass costs 35 – considerably cheaper than last years World Championships.

The event takes place in the coastal town of Bogense. Located in the North Funen Region of Denmark.

Saturday February 2nd
11 AM – 2019 UCI Men Junior Cyclo-Cross World Championships
1 PM – 2019 UCI Men Under 23 Cyclo-cross World Championships
3 PM – 2019 UCI Women Elite Cyclo-cross World Championships
Sunday February 3rd
11 AM – 2019 UCI Women Under 23 Cyclo-cross World Championships
3 PM – 2019 UCI Men Elite Cyclo-cross World Championships

Traveling to Bogense:

Flying to the event

Bogense is located roughly 200km West of Copenhagen, with Copenhagen International Airport being the best major airport for those wanting to travel to the race by plane, especially flying in from the USA.

Then you will be able to transfer to a train or a bus, costing roughly 20 in order to make the journey to Bogense.

Alternatively you could fly to Billund Airport, which is served by London Stanstead and Edinburgh in the UK. Billund, home of Legoland, is roughly 100km North West of Bogense, however this transfer is more lengthy due to less connections, making this more suited to those wanting to hire a car and drive the final bit of the journey.

Driving to the event:

From the south (the Danish German border)

  • From the border head for Kolding via E45 and then for Odense via E20
  • Leave the motorway at exit 57 Nørre Aaby
  • Turn right and follow route 317 towards Bogense

From the north (Aalborg/Aarhus)

  • Head for Kolding via E45 and then for Odense via E20.
  • Leave the motorway at exit 57 Nørre Aaby
  • Turn right and follow route 317 towards Bogense

From the west (Esbjerg)

  • Head for Odense via E20.
  • Leave the motorway at exit 57 Nørre Aaby
  • Turn right and follow route 317 towards Bogense

From the east (Zealand/Sjælland, Copenhagen, Sweden)

  • Head for Odense via E20.
  • Leave the motorway at exit 54 Vissenbjerg
  • Turn right and follow Søndersøvej/route 335 to Søndersø
  • From Søndersø follow route 311 towards Bogense
