Here we take a look at Tom Pidcocks Ridley X Night SL branded in Paul Milnes and European Champion Colouring.
This was the bike Pidcock rode to his first World Championship Victory back in Bieles 2017, a race memorable for the treacherous conditions in the snow and ice.
It’s interesting to see the technology used on such a tricky and testing parcour.

Here’s the bike Pidcock rode to the win in Bieles, still covered in a combination of mud and snow!
Shimano Prototype Pedals – common place in Pro Cyclocross – Now released as the new XTR Model
A gold KMC Chain running on Ceramic Speed Jockey Wheels with a Short Cage Mechanical Dura Ace 9000 Setup
Pidcock opted for a 1×11 Shimano setup, so fitted a 42t Wolf Tooth Chainring to accommodate his preference
You don’t want any tread in the ice, as nothing will grip the slippy surface, so its a Challenge Dune Team Edition on the front to provide maximum speed and contact area
As the conditions got a little muddier Pidcock Switched to a Challenge Chicane Tubular on the rear, providing a little extra grip on the rear in the slippy muddy corners.
Ceramic Speed Bearings were Part of the Victory
Cantilever Brakes – Avid Shorty Ultimate were chosen in the icy conditions with 4za finishing kit on the bars and stem
